KICKING HORSE BOARDING KENNELS
       DAY CAMP AND GROOMING
                                                                                           Policies

                                        Aggressive Dog Policy

It has become necessary for Kicking Horse Boarding Kennels to adopt a NO aggressive dog policy.  An aggressive dog is defined as a dog that exhibits moderate to extreme aggression towards people or other animals and also includes animals that are destructive to property due to aggression.  Kicking Horse Boarding Kennels can only accept dogs that can be turned out, handled and boarded next to others without fear of harm to employees or other animals in our care.  If you have any concerns about your dog, please discuss this before arriving at the facility.  Sometimes only certain events cause aggression and we may be able to alleviate a problem before it occurs.  We offer short term or day boarding to test for possible problems if there is doubt.  You will be asked to pick up your dog if it becomes unmanageable.  This policy has been adopted for the safety and welfare of ourselves, our employees, our neighbors and the animals in our care.

                                                   General Policies

When you arrive you will be asked to sign our boarding contract. This is  non-negotiable.  Please arrange extra time to complete this form if you have a schedule to meet.

All guests must be up to date on their vaccinations and we require a veterinary certificate showing the current vaccinations.  The vaccinations your pet requires to be a guest here are current Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Para-influenza, and Parvovirus as well as Bordetella vaccinations).  These records must be brought and presented during or prior to check-in.  These records may also be faxed or emailed to us prior to check-in either by you or directly from your veterinarian.  If you have any doubt or do not have a copy of your current vaccination records, please contact your vet.  For the Protection of your pet as well as our other guests, these requirements are non-negotiable and no exceptions will be made.

When you arrive at the kennel, please do not walk around or open gates looking for your best friend.  If we are not in the office please ring the doorbell or look over the fence into the yard, where we may be out with a group of dogs.  We will be with you as soon as we can.

Most of our dogs have an opportunity to be involved in group play when there are suitable playmates available.  Please let us know if group play is not appropriate for your dog either for health or temperment reasons.  Although it is not essential that your dog be involved in group play we reserve the right to not accept any dog that is “dog aggressive”.  All dogs in our care will have opportunity for exercise and fun in the play areas whether or not they are involved in group play.

Lost and Damaged Items Policy

Although we accept items from home to accompany your best friend during their visit with us we cannot accept responsibility for such items should they be lost or destroyed.  While we do everything in our power to keep these articles safe with your pet’s intended use, we will not be held responsible for any destroyed or damaged items.

                               Thank-you for your cooperation!
